I know it’s a bit late to do an April Glam Bag Review (Hi it’s basically May) but I figured I’d share my new goodies with you all anyways! This has taken a bit longer than normal as one of my products came broken and I had to wait for a replacement before I could do a full review of the product! Hope you enjoy this!
I LOVE this bag! I think that it goes perfectly with the bohemian theme for the month. I absolutely love the pastel colours and the faux straw material. The bag is actually larger than the past bags – so much so that I would actually consider using this as a clutch! My favourite glam bag so far this year!
My skin has always been a little bit whacky. I’ll wake up and my skin will be bone dry and then half way through the day I’ll feel like my face has completely transformed and is suddenly extremely oily. Needless to say, I’m always looking for products that can combat this problem so receiving a moisturizer in my glam bag was a welcome treat! First of all I loved the packaging on this lotion – many products with this type of lid are flimsy but this one appears to be super durable and rigid. When I first tried on the lotion makeup free I wasn’t really that impressed. I felt that while the lotion did absorb quickly it still left my face with a greasy feeling. I decided that wearing it once to bed wasn’t fair enough to give it an honest review so I tried it the next day under makeup. When I did this it felt completely different. It didn’t make my face oily at all – in fact it felt as though I wasn’t wearing any moisturizer at all! The only thing is that it didn’t help to reduce the oil build up on my face throughout the afternoon.
I think this is the most adorable eye shadow I have ever seen in my life. It is roughly the size of a match box and uses magnets as a means of keeping the little book closed. The little men on the packaging are both adorable and hilarious playing off the line name ‘Nude Dudes.’ Upon opening this product first thoughts were that the colour was going to be far too dark for me – I’m very pale and was worried that it would make me look like I had black eyes. Once I put on the shadow however, I was pleasantly surprised! There are subtle purples in the shadow and when paired with the brown base is actually very flattering for blue eyes. I have been wearing this product for the past couple of days and feel like my eyes are getting that extra attention I love! My only problem with the shadow is that it isn’t very pigmented and you need a lot to get your desired consistency. The staying power of the product is also slightly problematic for me!
This product is full sized and an impressive size for an IPSY product. My first impression of this was “WOW that is pink.” I get that it’s a blush and it’s supposed to add colour to my face, but I want the added colour to look as natural as possible. Maybe it’s years of competitive dance when my mom used to make my cheeks so pink with blush you could see it from the back of the auditorium but I have always been wary of blush. This product was VERY intimidating. I used one dab of it with my brush and the result was extremely pink cheeks. I did find the colour quite flattering with my skin, however, I feel as though this is a product I’m going to have to slowly ease myself into.
I love feminine smelling perfumes. Normally I lean towards very fruity, and fun scents like my current obsession Incredible Things by Taylor Swift but there is something about this perfume that is different that I love. Maybe it’s the satsuma, vanilla or sensual musk (yes, those are all ingredients) that I am attracted too, but either way I love this perfume. The scent reminds me of glamour, sophistication and sexiness. My only wish was that it came as a spray as opposed to the rollerball. Who knows though, this could have been done on purpose as it is a very strong smelling perfume!
KCO Colors by Beauty Brands Cream Lipstick in NATURAL BORN BEAUTY
So this product is the reason why my IPSY review is so late. The product came to me completely broken – so badly that I couldn’t even twist it to get the lipstick up. I emailed IPSY and, as always, they accommodated and said they were sending me a replacement product. Unfortunately due to stock you are not always guaranteed you will receive the same product, which, in my case is exactly what happened.
CARGO Cosmetics Mini Lip Gloss – ANGUILLA
My replacement product is one which – after searching – I realized was featured in a previous IPSY bag. This is the first product from IPSY that I have been truly disappointed in. The colour was all too light, the consistency was sticky and thick, and it just felt like a $2 lip gloss you used to buy when you were in grade school. Sorry if that was rude, but I just want to be honest! I really wish that there would have been enough stock to get another lipstick but I guess beggars can’t be choosers! Unfortunately a low rating for this little gloss.
Moisturizer – $21.00
Eyeshadow – $3.00 (based on price of palette with 12 singles)
Blush – $15.00
Perfume – $21.00
Lipstick – $8.00
Total Value of Bag – $68.00
So there you have it! My April IPSY bag review half way through May! Do you get IPSY? What’s your favourite product from the April bag? Let me know in the comments below!
I PROMISE I’ll be better with my May review! I just received the bag so look for that review coming in the next week or so!
Until next time!

I have to say, Monday night’s Met Ball might have been my all time favourite in terms of fashion. I cannot remember the last time I had such a hard time narrowing down my top five favourites. I mean, it’s not exactly a bad problem….I digress – lets get right into it! Here are my top five – in no particular order!
Karlie Kloss | Atelier Versace
Top to bottom this look is simple but stunning. I love her natural, barely-there makeup, the pop of green in her earrings and the amazing sheer bottom of the dress. I had high hopes for Karlie after her amazing debut last year and boy did she deliver!
Diana Agron | Tory Burch
The moment I saw this dress I thought “this is China Through the Looking Glass.” I don’t know if it was the minimal print of the birds, or the silhouette of the dress, but I love this entire look. For me, Diana Agron’s hair and makeup is always flawless on the red carpet and Monday night was no except. I think she is so beautiful.
Gigi Hadid | Diane von Furstenberg
SERIOUSLY. Gigi Hadid is unbelievably gorgeous. This whole red ensemble was quite possible the sexiest outfit at the Met Gala (yes, even compared to Kim K & Beyonce). The plunging neck line, the thigh-high slit, the bright red colour and the long voluminous hair are everything. This is the one outfit that right off the bat I knew had to be in my top five. SLAY.
Kendall Jenner | Calvin Klein
I LOVE the colour of this dress. Side boob is on point while still being tasteful. My favourite of the Kardashian Klan at the moment, Kendall is so naturally pretty it’s not even fair. Minimal makeup with a little cat eye and the sleek straight hair – nailed it.
Kristen Wiig | Parabal Gurung
I don’t think that Kristen Wiig gets enough praise for how beautiful she is. When I saw the first picture of her on Monday night I thought she was absolutely glowing and looked so beautiful I needed her in my top five. The yellow dress is so beautiful and I love the long sheer train.
So, like I said, it was incredibly difficult for me to pick just five of my favourite looks from Monday night so I’ve decided to include some honourable mentions! Enjoy!
There you go! Now it’s your turn – Who was your best dressed at this year’s Met Gala?

Tomorrow night is one of my favourite events for fashion – the annual MET Gala in NYC! This year’s theme is ‘China: Through the Looking Glass’ – a very different choice compared to last year’s ‘Charles James: Beyond Fashion!’ That being said, I thought that tonight would be the perfect time to take a look back at 10 of my favourite looks from past MET galas!
What do you think? Do you agree? Disagree? Think I missed someone? Comment below and let me know!

Say what you want about the Kardashian family, but it cannot be denied – they have amazing style. I don’t know if they pick out their own outfits or they have a stylist who puts them together, but I do know these girls have game. I was casually surfing instagram when I came across this picture of Khloe Kardashian exiting the airport in Armenia and immediately fell in love with her outfit. I love the elegant off duty pairing of suede pumps, distressed denim and a clean white trench.
After doing a little bit of research on what she was wearing I discovered that her handbag alone is worth over $3,000 and unfortunately not in my budget. In case you’re curious, here is a full run down on what she is wearing Yves St. Laurent pumps, Rag and Bone jeans, Stella McCartney sunglasses, a Malene Birger trench, and carrying a Celine bag.
This gave me an idea – I think we all see celebrities in outfits and want to recreate them but we don’t have the budget. So, I thought that it might be of interest to my readers if I did a feature I like to call Steal their Style where I would find similar items worn by celebs for a fraction of the price! So, here we go for the very first Steal their Style featuring Khloe Kardashian! Click on any of the items below and it will take you straight to the item’s page!
TopShop MOTO Bleach Authentic Ripped Skinny Jeans – $73.00
Michael Kors Selma Studded Saffiano Leather Medium Satchel – $184.00
I know this is a bit of a splurge item but I think that it is the perfect bag to complete this look and the ultimate investment piece. I have a Michael Kors Hamilton Tote and it is the only purse I use.
There you go! So, is this something you would like me to continue with? If so, is there a specific celeb or outfit you’d like me to feature?

Happy Easter everyone! Wishing you and your families all a wonderful Easter and/or Passover should you celebrate it! In my family we do both so it has been a long weekend of feast after feast!
It’s official – spring is here! It’s time to put away the chunky sweaters, winter boots, and bulky jackets in exchange for a lighter, more colourful wardrobe! In celebration I have put together a list of pieces I am definitely investing in this season!
I love this length. I think that with my height (5’11”) it would be ultra flattering and very work appropriate. I am loving this one from ASOS in this soft yellow colour. Also it has pockets. POCKETS. I also want to invest in other pastel colours and floral prints!
I cannot wait to paint my toes a bring pink and wear some gorgeous sandals! I don’t usually wear heels because I’m so tall, but I might just invest in a pair like these silver stilettos! I also love the bright colours and boho feel the flats are giving off – I think that once I get a little tan the yellow would really pop!
I will admit I was not super into this trend at first – I didn’t really feel comfortable bearing my mid-drift. But I’ve seen photos of outfits put together where there actually isn’t a ton of skin showing – paired with a high waisted midi skirt, shorts, or jeans! I love this black one especially because of the off the shoulder v-neck.
I have always worn baseball hats in the spring and summer but I think there is something so elegant about a wide brimmed hat. I chose this one because the fabric looks like the perfect mix between floppy and sturdy. It’ll have a little give but won’t lose it’s shape!
I love denim and while its not a part of my work dress code, I am always looking to add it to my off duty wardrobe. I have been looking for a really good pair of black skinny jeans with a couple of rips in them but never found it appropriate to buy them in the middle of -30 degree weather (Canada for you!). Now that the sun is coming out and the temperature is finally above zero I think it’s time!
There are a ton of other things I want to get in my closet, but I think these are the top five!
What are some things that you are looking to purchase for your spring wardrobe?

In honour of Women Crush Wednesday I thought I would share why I love one of my ultimate girl crushes – Sophia Bush. Check out the top 5 reasons below!
5. She is insanely gorgeous and her style – both on and off the red carpet – is on point! She is actually associated with a program called liketoknowit which lets you know exactly what she’s wearing!
4. She travels to all the beautiful places you dream of going and photographs them like a pro.
3. She is back on TV playing a bad ass female cop on the show Chicago PD. She is also a part of one of the hottest TV couples at the moment #Linsteadforever
2. She played Brooke Davis on One Tree Hill – aka one of the best television characters of all time. Despite her tough exterior she was actually a true softy and was the main character in a scene I will never forget (see the still below).
1. She is an activist for a number of causes including same-sex marriage, animal rights, Fuck Cancer and various children’s charities. She uses Twitter, Facebook and Instagram as platforms for social change and I really applaud her for this. Not many celebrities are this dedicated to using their fame for good.
If you don’t follow Sophia on social media now use the links below and GET ON IT!
